Actors Need a Living (A.N.A.L.) Fund
THE 2016 ANAL FUND IS CLOSED. THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO APPLIED!
What is the Actors Need a Living Fund?
The Actors Need a Living (A.N.A.L.) Fund is one of our most important initiatives at The Bad Oracle. We strongly believe that the fund is a crucial part of our mission to support, respect and enrich the Baltimore small theater community – the people and places we love so much. The fund awards are limited to actor stipends because we believe in paying actors, even if it can only be a limited amount, for their work in the small theater scene.
Are individuals able to apply?
No. Only stages or organizations with a 501 c(3) designation (or a fiscal sponsorship, like through Fractured Atlas) may apply.
How do you choose the award?
We take into account the quality of the stage or organization, their performance history and their financial need while choosing the awards.
How does my stage or organization apply?
There is a link to the application form at the top of this page. No e-mails or mailed applications please.
How much is each grant award?
Right now, the grant award will be $500. We know that isn’t a lot, but it’s a start. We hope to increase the size of the awards as we get more donors to the Fund.
Is there a limit to how many times we can apply per season?
A stage or organization may apply once per cycle.
Is there a geographical restriction?
Yes. We are limiting the grant to small theaters operating within Baltimore City or Baltimore County for now.
Is there a budget restriction?
Yes. We are limiting the grant to small theaters – that is, theaters that operate on $100,000 or less per year.
How many grants will be given?
For right now, one per calendar year. Grant deadlines are clearly listed on the application form.
The A.N.A.L. 2016 application form will be available on June 30th, 2016 (sorry we’re a little later than we thought we’d be this year!)
